Quinn Caterpillar is currently hiring a forklift mechanic to work for our Oxnard, CA location.

Summary of the Forklift Mechanic

The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for performing periodic maintenance, repair, replacement and troubleshooting on various models of material handling and farm equipment.

Primary Responsibilities - Forklift Mechanic:

• Inspect, service, and repair forklifts and farm equipment
• Disassemble, overhaul, repair and reassemble engine, transmission, differential, clutch, brake, electrical system, fuel system, and any other part related to material handling or farm equipment
• Perform scheduled equipment service ranging from minor to major service
• Use all tools of the trade, including precision instruments, welding equipment, shop machines, overhead hoists and power tools in adjusting and repairs
• Complete accurately all required internal and customer driven paperwork, including work orders, safety inspections, timesheets
• Ensure company equipment and tools comply with safety and cleanliness standards
• Demonstrate exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Own and maintain up to date tools of the trade
• Keeps work and supply areas clean and orderly, and follows all safety rules and procedures
• Required to work overtime if needed
• Perform other work-related duties as directed or assigned

Qualifications - Forklift Mechanic:

• Must have mechanical experience in one or more areas: automotive, diesel and or forklift
• One-year certificate or associate's degree from a community college or technical school; Five plus year's heavy equipment experience or equivalent education and experience
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instruction
• Valid California driver’s license/good driving record

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for prolonged period of time
• Ability to bend, squat, stand and reach as necessary
