Bookkeeper Job Duties:

Bookkeeper Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software and regularly reconciling accounts.
Prepare checks as bills come due for payment.
Obtain necessary tax forms from new vendors.
Perform reconciliations of bank accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.
Make deposits and record all cash receipts.
Process company payroll.
Distribute customer invoices and ensure that receivables are collected in a timely manner.
Manage the office petty cash fund.
Maintain an organized and streamlined accounting system.
Provide administrative support to management when required.
Bookkeeper Requirements and Qualifications
· Minimum of associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, or relevant field.
· Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
· Experience with accounting software.
· Data entry.
· Keen attention to detail and ability to keep records and files organized.
· Competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator.
· Strong time manager with respect for deadlines.
· Ability to identify errors and solve problems.
· Decisive and critical thinker.
Bookkeeper Essential Functions:
Receives, approves, and, when necessary, investigates client's accounts payable invoices.
Codes payables for accounts payable clerks to input.
Communicates (both in verbal and written form) with clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts.
Keeps track of company assets.
Handles companyt mail.
Prepares appropriate reports as requested by owners.
Deposits accounts receivables into client bank accounts.
Handles company payroll.
Assists accountants on tax return preparation.
Generates 1099's and W-2's for clients.
Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by accountants or partners.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
Minimum of two years responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and financial reports.
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
Ability to operate calculator, computer, and other general office equipment.
Knowledge of computerized accounting.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
Prior experience in Business Management preferred.
May be required to be a Notary Public.
